How we make money

The current situation

We are building an independent guide for US pillow shoppers. The site currently explains how pillow height, firmness, fill, and sleep position fit together. We have not published hands-on product rankings. We also have no paid placements, sponsored reviews, or affiliate links. If you see a recommendation for a type of pillow, it reflects the needs described in that guide or quiz result, not a commercial agreement with a brand.

Building the site, researching the topic, buying products for future testing, and maintaining pages all cost time and money. That does not change the reader's need for clear boundaries. This page explains how we may fund the work later and what commercial relationships will never control.

Affiliate links may appear later

After product testing begins and reviews are ready, we may link to retailers through affiliate programs. If a reader buys after using such a link, a retailer may pay us a commission. The price paid by the reader is generally the same, although retailer offers and prices can change independently of us. We will not imply that every link pays us. We will distinguish editorial links from affiliate links on the page where they appear.

Any page containing an affiliate link will carry a clear disclosure near the top, before the first commercial link. We will also keep a link to this full explanation in the site footer. A reader should not need to search a legal page to learn why a retailer link is present. This page will be updated the day affiliate links go live, including the date of the change.

How scores will be protected

Commissions will never be an input to a product's score. We have published the planned testing criteria before publishing product reviews: alignment, support and loft, temperature, durability, care, and value. We will use measurements and recorded observations to support any future score, and we will explain where evidence is limited. A product with a generous commission will not receive a higher position because of that payment. A product with no affiliate program can still be covered if it meets our editorial selection criteria.

The testing plan calls for us to choose pillows across positions, materials, and price levels, then document how they perform for different sleepers. Commercial availability will not replace that plan. If a particular retailer is out of stock, we may link elsewhere or show no purchase link. We will update product pages when price, availability, or policy information changes, while retaining the original observations and their dates.

No paid placement

Brands cannot buy a review, a “featured” label, a high rank, or a positive conclusion. We do not accept payment to remove criticism. If a brand supplies factual corrections, such as a changed fill material or warranty term, we will verify and date any edit. The brand will not approve the editorial judgment. We also will not describe a product as personally tested until hands-on work has actually been completed.

Our aim is to let the fit evidence lead. Someone who sleeps on their side may need a different loft from someone who sleeps on their stomach; a universal “best” list can hide that difference. The quiz and guides therefore begin with a sleeper's position and preferences. Future product comparisons will need to show which profiles a pillow suits, where it falls short, and what remains unknown.

Changes and questions

We will review this disclosure whenever we add a revenue source or change how commercial links work. We will note the update date at the top. If we add a sponsorship format in the future, we will describe it before using it and keep it separate from ratings; no such placement is offered today. If you find an undisclosed commercial link or a claim that seems inconsistent with this policy, please contact us so we can investigate and correct it.

Trust depends on being able to see the rules before a recommendation is made. You can inspect the planned protocol and read more about the project. Those pages will be updated as the first testing round progresses. Until reviews are published, no product ranking on this site should be treated as the result of a test.
